PCMM at BCH advances the public welfare by transferring its discoveries and inventions to the commercial market where they can be developed into new drugs, therapies, and biomedical devices. Licensing fees and royalty income from technology transfer can be reinvested in our research leading to yet additional discoveries. Thus, public investments in basic research are repaid many-fold through improvements in medical care.

The Technology and Innovations Development Office (TIDO) at BCH administers this critical activity. TIDO manages the patenting of intellectual property, assesses the commercial potential of PCMM technology, and markets candidate technologies. The office negotiates and manages contracts for the transfer of materials between our investigators and their collaborators from academia and industry, inter-institutional and industry partnerships, and technology licensing.
