The Program in Cellular and Molecular Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital is recognized worldwide for its discoveries that increase the body's ability to fight disease and to heal.
Our Program boasts two core facilities, featuring cutting-edge equipment designed to allow investigators to conduct ambitious, original research projects. PCMM is especially outstanding in the area of advanced microscopy technology.
The two core facilities are: multi-photon/confocal microscopy, which can track the movement of immune cells within the vasculature of live mice; and cell sorter/flow cytometry, a technology that employs laser beams to analyze cellular characteristics that are key to basic research.
